An invoice needs to be unambiguous more than it needs to be pretty: who is billing whom, for what, how much, and by when. This template covers each of those, with a line-item table that totals cleanly and a payment-terms block that gives you something to point at when chasing.

Frequently asked questions
- What has to appear on an invoice?
- At minimum: a unique invoice number, the issue date, your details and the client's, an itemised description of the work, the total due, and the payment terms. Tax registration numbers are required in many jurisdictions — check your local rules, as this template can't know them.
- Can I add tax or VAT?
- Yes. The totals block is ordinary markdown, so add a line for the tax rate and adjust the total. The table will re-flow automatically.
- Can I password-protect the invoice?
- Yes. Under Security in the settings panel you can set an open password and restrict printing or copying.
